I’ve worked with recruitment agencies as a business owner and my experience was pretty disappointing. Other business owners and decision makers I’ve talked to were usually dissatisfied with their experience, too.

First, hiring agencies usually focus on hiring someone very fast and are sacrificing quality in the process. That’s because they only get paid when they find someone for the job. Q.   Why do you do a three hour interview?
While three hours may sound like a lot, the time investment up front is worth it. It’s much less than wasting hundreds of hours training and managing the wrong candidate (not to mention the 10 of thousands of dollars lost in the process).
The three hour interview is designed to get to know the candidate as much as possible so that you have a very accurate idea of who you are hiring… it is impossible to “fake it” for 3 hours straight. Furthermore, it shows your commitment to thoroughness and communicates your high expectations.
